Learn about age requirements for pharmacy services.

Why Are There Age Restrictions?

Some pharmacy services have age requirements based on:

  • Provincial health guidelines - Government recommendations

  • Vaccine eligibility - Approved age ranges for vaccines

  • Service requirements - Specific service limitations

How It Works

The booking system will automatically:

  1. Ask for the patient's date of birth

  2. Check eligibility based on age

  3. Show only appropriate services and vaccine options

You won't be able to book services that aren't available for the patient's age.

Common Age Requirements

Flu Shots

  • Regular flu shot - Usually 5+ years (varies by province)

  • High-dose flu shot - 65+ years

COVID-19 Vaccines

  • Age eligibility varies by vaccine type and province

  • Check provincial guidelines for current recommendations

Other Vaccines

  • Shingles vaccine - Usually 50+ years

  • Travel vaccines - Varies by vaccine type

Minor Illness Assessment

  • Age requirements vary by service and province

  • Some services for adults only

Booking for Children

Yes, you can book for children:

  1. Add additional people to your booking

  2. Enter the child's date of birth

  3. The system will show age-appropriate options

Note: A parent or guardian may need to be present at the appointment for minors.

Booking for Seniors

High-dose vaccines and senior services:

  • Available for adults 65+

  • Enter the patient's date of birth

  • Age-appropriate options will be shown

What If My Age Isn't Eligible?

If you're not eligible for a specific service:
